Honeywell Announces the MicroForce FMA Series, Small Footprint Digital Force Sensor

Honeywell is pleased to announce the addition of the MicroForce Sensor, FMA Series, to our extensive force sensing portfolio. The FMA Series are small form factor (5mm x 5mm)piezoresistive based force sensors with a digital output with multiple ranges for measuring force up to 25 newtons. The small form factor supports n ew designs and the digital output reduces the time and cost of new product development projects within medical and industrial applications. The FMA Series are amplified, calibrated and temperature compensated for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature eff ects, and nonlinearity using an on board Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC).
The FMA Series is offered with a choice of force ranges and digital outputs (I²C and SPI). The high accuracy and performance, in a small package, enable the use of force sensors in machines that traditionally have not had sensor based control and feedback loops.
